BLONDE THINGS THAT ROCK: THE COLOR PINK
Pink: it’s not just for Barbie. She may have popularized the blonde + pink combo, but I’m pretty sure that it’s always been around. I’m sure that since the birth of pink back in caveman days, blondes just knew they were supposed to wear it. At that time they probably made pink earrings out of buffalo entrails or something, but it didn’t matter because they were PINK.
Doris Day really knew how the rock the pink in Pillow Talk. Who can forget Marilyn Monroe, the epitome of BLONDE, dancing around singing “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” in the film GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES while wearing a pink satin evening gown? Later, the blonde, buxom playboy playmates seemed to have a fondness for the color as well as Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. Victoria’s Secret has a line of clothing called “Pink.” Pink is vital to our culture as a people.
Pink is awesome. If you’re wearing pink, you’re usually in a pretty good mood regardless of your hair color. Pink lipstick, pink earrings, pink pearls, pink shirts, pink blush, pink dresses, pink nail polish, pink shoes… they all have the power to cheer me up. So, if you’re feeling blue, whether you’re a blonde, brunette, redhead, or somewhere in the middle or from outer space, wear something pink and cheer yourself up.
